Security

We take security very seriously and have taken several precautions to prevent anyone from accessing your clips without your authorization. However, keep in mind that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link! For this reason, we recommend you respect all computer security best practices.

Latest Clips

These clips are encoded and stored as files on your hard hard drive. If you’ve enabled CloudConnect then these files will also be stored in a (hidden) folder on your cloud storage provider’s servers. .

Saved Clips

By default, these clips are stored as regular files. If you would like to apply an additional layer of security, you can opt to secure a folder with a password. This will create a “protected folder” in which files are encrypted using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm, which is approved by the National Security Agency (NSA) for top-secret information.

Clips:

Text, image data, or files copied to the clipboard at some point. These are stored temporarily until the Clip Limit is reached.

Snippets:

Text, image data, or files made available in the Paste Menu. These may contain Strings.

SubSnippets:

These are marked text strings within snippets that can be extracted individually.
